AIRPORT West-St Christophers will leave no stone unturned in its quest to snare the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division minor premiership out of the clutches of season-long ladder-leader Yarraville Club.

The West Saints dominated on day one of the top-of-the-table clash, posting 5-336 off 80 overs to hold the upper hands at stumps.

Papua New Guinean import Chris Amini made 115 not out off 240 balls in the West Saints opening position and worked nicely alongside big-name players Asif Jan (63) and John Taylor (101).

The Clubbers were smacked all over the park at the Walker Oval in West Footscray, but the West Saints won't need to be reminded of the home side's batting strength when the second day's play takes shape.

In other senior division matches, Old Essendon Grammarians posted a par score of 275 in its battle with Spotswood on the road at McLean Reserve, while St Bernard's Old Collegians was set 188 for victory at home to Altona North.
